US News & World Report acknowledges crime rates in the United States have dropped in the past two decades but violent crime remains an alarming problem in some of the largest urban areas. St. Louis, MO has a crime rate that is more than quadruple the national figure. Residents of St. Louis City, North County and students attending urban universities are continuously victimized by street thugs. It’s a must for anyone walking the streets these days, carry some form of personal protection such as Wildfire pepper spray or Taser C2 as self defense against an attacker.
An analysis of FBI data shows which cities in the United States have the highest overall incidence of crime, relative to the national rate. The analysis of FBI data was performed by Onboard Informatics from FBI crime reporting data of the most recent seven years. This data includes property crime, such as burglary and motor vehicle theft, as well as violent crime. An index score of 100 is equal to the national crime rate, meaning that St. Louis, for example, with a an index of 530, has a crime rate more than quadruple the national average, scary!
