Students living off campus often face the sometimes interesting challenge of interacting with seedy and scary looking characters on the urban streets of any big city. Many university students are transient and frequently use public transportation such as metrolink and buses to get to campus. This requires many of the students to walk or bike ride through questionable if not dangerous areas of the urban community.
