The sad facts are in the US someone is sexually assaulted every two minutes, and a violent crime happens every twenty seconds. Some things you can not stop, but you can respond the correct way to keep yourself safe and alive. Every time you turn on the news you hear about someone getting raped or robbed or both and you wonder if something like that could even ever happen to you or someone you love.
When my daughter came to me one day and told me she was going to a self defense course and asked me if I wanted to join her. Of course I did and I really felt the class was great. It gave us great defense techniques and told us the basics on how to get away from someone who sneaks up on you. We also learned that if at all possible don’t leave the location you are in and go somewhere else with the robber, because that is usually where they kill you and get rid of the body. Try to draw attention to your self and many times he will get embarrassed and leave because he won’t want anyone to see what he wants to do or get arrested.
The instructor also showed us some urban survival safety tips too. But when I wanted to find some more great safety techniques I went online to do a little research on the internet and did a search for urban survival safety. I was able to find some other great defense techniques for both myself and my daughter. That I also told my sister and her girls about them too.
