USA Today reported today that more than 2,400 law enforcement agencies have purchased 45,000 of the new Taser mounted camera. A video camera attached to police Tasers give officers documentation they were justified in using the device to subdue unruly suspects. The camera automatically turns on when removed from its holster and its safety device released. Like the Taser X26C Black, the taser works by shooting two darts into the skin or clothing, and then delivers 50,000 volts of whup ass to the belligerent out of control suspect. It’s a non-lethal method of subduing a suspect thou, Amnesty International will say otherwise. About 13,000 law enforcement agencies use Tasers as an alternative to deadly force.
